Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) 2019 conducts a national level exam for admission in MBBS programmes in various colleges of JIPMER all over India as it is one of the three medical entrance exams in India. It is held for 200 MBBS seats available at JIPMER, Puducherry (150 seats) and JIPMER, Karaikal (50 seats), these seats are divided according to the different categories. JIPMER MBBS, conducts the entrance exam annually (once in a year) in different places approximately 120 cities, in online mode i.e. as a computer-based test. One thing, that there are no seats available through NEET or AIIMS. It is expected that around 2 lakh aspirants/candidates will take this entrance in 2019.

Eligibility Criteria:

JIPMER MBBS 2019 eligibility criteria refer to some basic requirements that candidates must fulfill in order to be deemed eligible for the entrance to appear in JIPMER MBBS 2019 and these are given below:

  • Candidate should have been born or before Jan 1, 2003.

  • Candidates must be of 17 years on or before December 31 in the academic year they are taking the exam.

  • Candidates must have studied Biology/Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry with practical tests in their tests in Class 12 from a recognised board/university.

  • Apart from the mentioned subjects, English should be studied as a core subject in Class 12.

  • NRI and OCI candidates must show a certificate approved from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi stating that the qualifying exam is equivalent to Class 12 exam.

  • Candidates must have passed in all the above-mentioned subjects individually and should also score at least 60% in Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry and Physics combined.

  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories or PwD categories must score a minimum of 50%.

  • Candidates must be of Indian nationals/Overseas Citizens of India/National Residents of India to appear in JIPMER MBBS exam.

All the candidates are suggested to check the application form very carefully (before submitting it) and check all the criteria/options one by one.

Application Process:

To fill the application form of JIPMER MBBS, firstly you have to register yourself through online mode. And the registration process will starts on March 6, 2019 and it will be available till April 12, 2019. The registration process for this entrance exam will be accessible in online mode only. Candidates must know, that it is mandatory to fill JIPMER MBBS application form 2019 in order to be considered for further admission processes. The successful submission of JIPMER MBBS 2019 registration form involves six step process:-

JIPMER MBBS 2019 Preparation Tips

While preparing for JIPMER MBBS 2019 entrance exam, candidates must know the preparation tips which will be helpful for them in scoring good marks in this exam. Here are some important tips:

  • Time Management: Unlike the other two medical entrances i.e. NEET UG and AIIMS MBBS, JIPMER MBBS exam is held for 2.5 hours and the total number of questions are 200. In NEET, candidates do get 1 minute for solving a question while in AIIMS a little over one minute is taken as the average for solving one question. Therefore, time management is really important for students while appearing for JIPMER MBBS exam.

  • Know the sections: Apart from the science section comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology, JIPMER question paper 2019 also includes two sections- English Language and Comprehension and Logical & Quantitative Reasoning. Candidates should concentrate on these two sections also since they carry 20 marks, which is important to cover.

  • Understand the syllabus: JIPMER, Puducherry hasn’t prescribed the syllabus for this entrance exam. Although, they mentioned that the State Board and CBSE syllabus of Classes 11 and 12 will be taken into consideration. Candidates preparing for JIPMER must check the various state boards syllabus as well.

  • Assertion-Reason Question: JIPMER MBBS aspirants must familiarise themselves with assertion reason based questions along with the multiple choice questions. These questions requires knowledge of basic concepts which can be gained from NCERT textbooks of Classes 11 and 12.

JIPMER MBBS 2019 Admit Card

Admit card is the entry pass to the JIPMER examination centre. The candidates will be able to download their JIPMER MBBS admit card 2019 after its release, most likely in the third week of May, will be considered eligible to take the JIPMER entrance exam. The admit card will be accessible by submitting the User ID and password. JIPMER MBBS 2019 hall ticket will exhibit details like name, birth date, photo, signature, exam city and centre. The admit card is a mandatory document that has to be shown at the time of examination as without the hall ticket candidates will not be allowed to enter the test centre under any circumstances.

And the documents which are required during the examination are:

  • Valid Identity Proof (in original)

  • Photocopy of the ID proof

JIPMER MBBS 2019 Result

Result of JIPMER MBBS 2019 will be issued after a week of the conduction of the entrance exam. The result, released in the form of merit list and individual scorecard, will be made available in online mode only. The regulatory body of this examination will issue the category wise merit lists which contains: name of candidates who have qualified the exam while the overall merit lists include all the candidates who have appeared in this entrance exam.

JIPMER MBBS merit list 2019 will reflect All India Rank, roll no., name, birth date, overall percentile, incorrect responses, sectional percentile and status of eligibility for the counselling process. The percentile score will determine whether the candidates have qualified the exam or not. The scores of the candidates are not revealed by the conducting body. The individual scorecard can be viewed by entering user ID and password.

JIPMER MBBS 2019 Cutoff

Cut off of JIPMER MBBS 2019 is stipulated on the basis of the relative performance of all the candidates. JIPMER will release the minimum required percentile to qualify the exam even before the exam is conducted. As per the current rules and regulations, unreserved category candidates are required to secure 50th percentile and PwD candidates belonging to unreserved category must secure 45th percentile. Reserved category candidates and PwD candidates will come under the reserved categories and they must secure a minimum of 40th percentile to be considered qualified.

Counselling:

Counselling process of JIPMER MBBS 2019 is held in three rounds and in offline mode. Candidates are asked to report to the allotted centre for counselling on the assigned dates. A final counselling round will be conducted depending on the availability of seats. Before the commencement of a counselling round, the authorities will invite candidates by publishing a notice on the official website of JIPMER MBBS 2019. For each category, the number of candidates will be ten times than the number of seats available for that particular category.
