JIPMER 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Introduction:

JIPMER 2019 is organized/conducted by Jawaharlal Institute Postgraduate Medical Education & Research Puducherry and accordingly the body has declared the eligibility criteria for the respective entrance exam. The application form will be released on March 6th, 2019 with 12th April, 2019 being the last date to apply. The exam thereby will be held on 2nd June, 2019. JIPMER is a national level entrance exam held foe candidate to get admissions in Under Graduate medical MBBS courses. The admissions are offered by the JIPMER Karaikal & Puducherry campuses.

Qualifying Exam

  • English as main subjects in 11th and 12th standard.

  • Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology in 12th standard.

Lower Age Limit

  • Candidate must be born on or before January 1st, 2003.

  • Age of the candidate should be at least 17 years as on December 31st, 2019.

Upper Age Limit

No upper age limit has been conditioned for JIPMER MBBS 2019.

Minimum Marks Required

Categories: OBC/SC/ST/PwD- 50% and UR-60% for PCB subjects only.


JIPMER 2019 Eligibility Nationality Guidelines:

A candidate should be an Indian citizen/ OCI (Overseas Citizen of India)/NRI (National Residents of India). The eligibility criterion entails NRI and OCI candidates to upload the necessary documents while filling up the application form. In addition to this these candidates will be considered for only ‘unreserved’ category.

JIPMER 2019 Eligibility Academic Specifications:

Applicants of JIPMER MBBS must pass their 12th standard examination or an equivalent examination after they have studied for minimum of 12 years. They must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology in the last two years of their study period and English as a core subject in the said period. OCI/NRI candidates who have not completed 12th standard from their respective country are required to submit an Eligibility Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

The criterion necessitates scoring a minimum of 60% (50% for reserved categories and PwD candidates) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in aggregate and passing all the subjects individually.

The applicants can fill the form early before their 12th standard results are out but will be only considered eligible when the results are out and accordingly academic specifications are fulfilled. Also the issuance of admit card is not the final confirmation for eligibility if the 12th standard results are not declared.
