AIIMS MBBS 2019

AIIMS MBBS (2019) is a national level entrance exam for undergraduates seeking admissions in medical courses, which is scheduled to be conducted on May 25th-May 26th for the academic year of 2019-2020. Through this exam, candidates can enroll in MBBS programs offered at 9 AIIMS all over the country. According to the data, 2 lakh aspirants register each year for this entrance exam. Last year, a total of 7,617 candidates, including 2,705 females qualified the examination. This entrance exam (AIIMS MBBS 2019) is highly competitive as it is among India’s three entrance exams of medical courses as NEET and JIPMER are the remaining ones.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences offers admission to 807 seats (in which 7 seats are already reserved for foreign nationals) available across nine AIIMS, and these centers are New Delhi, Rishikesh, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Patna, Jodhpur, Raipur, Guntur and Nagpur. This examination will be conducted in two medium: English and Hindi.

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for AIIMS MBBS 2019 are the basic minimum requirements that a candidate must fulfill to appear in AIIMS MBBS 2019 entrance exam as it includes the minimum age limit and essential educational qualification which are mentioned below-

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be 17 years of age or should attain the same by December 31 2019, so that they can attend the exam.

  • Academic Qualification: According to the rules of AIIMS, a candidate must have qualified Class 12th or an equivalent examination from a recognized board (CBSE/ISC/State board) wherein candidate should have Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English as main subjects. If a candidate has passed the qualifying examination from a foreign country then a document stating that the qualification is equivalent to Class 12 must be shown.

  • Required Percentage: Candidate must ensure that a minimum of 60% marks has to be scored in English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics if belonging to unreserved or OBC category. For a candidate belonging to PwD/SC/ST category, the minimum marks required should be at least 50% to fulfill AIIMS MBBS eligibility criteria 2019.

  • Nationality: Indian nationals, foreign nationals, OCIs, and NRIs are also eligible to take admission in MBBS courses.

Application Form:

Application form for AIIMS MBBS 2019 will be filled through online mode and before filling the form students have to register themselves. The registration process for AIIMS MBBS 2019 will most probably start in the month of February. Only those candidates who will fill the AIIMS MBBS application form 2019 will be eligible to appear in the entrance exam. It must be ensured by all the candidates that they have filled just one registration form and the details submitted are relevant as per their documents. The successful submission of the application form for the exam does not indicate that it is accepted by the authorities. Forms will be scrutinized by the officials, therefore, a valid ID proof number, photograph, signature and exact educational qualifications should be submitted during form filling. The registration process is completely online and candidates should not send the application forms via post, mail or any other medium.

Steps to fill the AIIMS MBBS 2019 application form are mentioned below:

  • Complete the process of registration

  • Fill the application form by submitting required details

  • Make the payment

  • Select the exam cities

  • Submit educational qualification and contact details

  • Upload photograph, signature and left-thumb impression

  • Recheck the application form before submission

  • Take a printout of the confirmation page after a successful submission

Exam Pattern:

According to the AIIMS MBBS 2019 entrance exam, the question paper contains 200 multiple choice questions from science section which includes Physics, Chemistry and Biology and two additional sections that is General Knowledge and Aptitude & Logical Thinking. AIIMS, New Delhi has not prescribed exact syllabus for the entrance exam but it has been clarified by them that the question paper is of Class 12 level. The available language medium for this entrance exam is English or Hindi and candidates will receive the test paper in that medium which they have opted in the AIIMS MBBS application form, and total duration of this entrance exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

The marking scheme of AIIMS MBBS 2019 involves negative marking wherein candidates will be given 1 mark for each correct answer and 1/3 marks will be subtracted from the total score for each wrong answer. No marks will be given for the questions which are marked under review by the candidates or left unattempted. As this exam will be conducted in four shifts, there will be a normalization procedure involved which will be based on percentile.

Tips:

Preparation of a competitive exam like AIIMS MBBS is not that much easy but it can be, by following some tip, strategies, hard work as well as smart work. Some of the notable tips are given below:

  • Covering your NCERT syllabus of Class 11 as well as 12 is essential along with this candidates must refer to the books which gives an upper edge on solving multiple choice questions as it will help them a lot.

  • According to the previous toppers, especially while preparing for Physics and Chemistry section of AIIMS MBBS 2019 entrance exam, candidates are advised to consider solving questions from books which are recommended for engineering entrance exams.

  • Another important thing for this exams is the assertion reason questions which requires candidates to go through with each and every concept. And for this NCERT books will be really helpful for candidates to solve assertion reason questions.

  • As All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi does not issue a particular syllabus for the entrance exam, So, candidates must consider the syllabus of other medical entrances like NEET, JIPMER and Classes 11 and 12 syllabi of CBSE to give a strong base to their preparations.
