AIIMS 2019 Eligibility Criteria:


AIIMS 2019 (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) entrance exam is a national level test conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi. The exam allows candidates to take admissions to the MBBS programme in the respective AIIMS Institutions. Through this exam, candidates can get admission into the nine mentioned AIIMS Institutions located in New Delhi, Bhopal, Rishikesh, Patna, Jodhpur, Guntur, Nagpur, Raipur and Bhubaneshwar. The exam will be conducted on the dates of 24th and 25th of May, 2019. The total number seats available are 807 for the above mentioned 9 institutes.

AIIMS 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

The criterion is based on a few parameters as follows-

  • Nationality

  • Age Limit

  • Academic Qualification

  • Minimum Marks secured

Nationality: The respective candidates of Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs (Overseas Citizens of India), Persons of India Origin (PIOs) and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for AIIMS 2019. OCIs and NRIs need to submit proof of registration to be eligible. The terms and conditions are same for all the candidates. For Foreign Nationals extra 7 seats are reserved in AIIMs New Delhi institute only. Foreign Nationals get admissions only on the basis of nominations by Government of India and minimum of 50% in 12th standard (for core subjects- PCB+ English).

Age Limit: the candidates must been the age of 17 or more as on the date of 31st December, 2019. And as per this limit the candidates must be born on or before 2nd January, 2003 to be eligible for AIIMS 2019.

Academic Qualification: Applicants must pass their 12th standard examination or an equivalent examination after they have studied for minimum of 12 years. They must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the last two years of their study period and English as a core subject in the said period. Candidates appearing for 12th standard are also eligible. Also students who haven’t received their 12th standard results are also eligible provided they will show the results with the minimum qualification percentage.

Minimum Marks scored: Candidates must have scored minimum aggregate marks (as per the categories) in the subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

The minimum marks to be obtained as per the categories are-

  • General and OBC- 60%

  • SC/ST/PWD- 50%

Highlights of AIIMS 2019:

  • The total number of questions are 200 (MCQs)

  • The test is in online mode only (computer based)

  • The languages of the test are only English or Hindi.

  • The marking scheme says that 1 mark is awarded for every right answer and 1/3rd of a mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
