RRB ALP Exam Pattern

Railway Recruitment Board is all set to commence its RRB ALP exam from 9th August 2019. This year RRB will recruit for 26,502 vacancies through ALP exam. Here is the detailed Exam Pattern RRB ALP of 2018 along with the negative marking scheme, sectional and total marks. Try to stick to this exam pattern while solving mock test papers and practice to maximize your score.

RRB ALP selection will be based on 4 stages as follows:

  1. First stage CBT

  2. Second stage CBT

  3. Computer-Based Aptitude Test (only for ALP)

  4. Document Verification

Railways RRB ALP – 1st Stage CBT

The First Stage CBT will be of the following pattern:

  • There is negative marking in 1st & 2nd Stage CBT.

  • 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

  • On qualifying 2nd Stage CBT, you will have to appear for a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) followed by Document Verification.

  • There will be no negative marking for Computer Based Aptitude Test (3rd Stage).

  • The Computer Based Aptitude Test will be available in English and Hindi languages only.

  • For the candidates applying for Technicians will be directly called for Document Verification after both the stages of CBT.

Railways RRB ALP – Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

  • Only for candidates who have opted for ALP

  • You need to score minimum 42 marks in each of the ‘test of batteries’ to qualify.This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation will be granted.

Document Verification

If you qualify both the stages of CBT in case of Technicians & both stages of CBT and CBAT in case of ALP then you will be called for Document Verification.

Final Selection

The ALP Merit List will be drawn from the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer-Based Aptitude Test.
