IBPS PO 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Introduction: Institute for Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts this exam for recruiting Probationary Officers (PO) in various public-sector banks in India. Total number of vacancies this year is expected to be more than 4000. The mode of examination is online. The examination is conducted in two parts:

  • IBPS PO Mains Exam

Preliminary exam of IBPS PO 2019 is to be tentatively scheduled on the following dates of the month of October 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st and the Mains exam on the date of November 18th. IBPS conducts this process of recruitment annually. Online registration commences in July 2019 and remains open for duration of 30 days.

Prelims qualifiers will then need to appear for the Tier-II i.e. IBPS PO 2019 Mains exam. Candidates will further have to appear in a Personal Interview (PI) round comprising of 100 marks.

IBPS PO 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

IBPS lays down the eligibility conditions for IBPS PO 2019. In cases where any candidate does not meet any of the laid down specific conditions at any stage of the Common Recruitment Process, the candidature of the candidate is liable to be rejected immediately. The basic eligibility criteria pertaining to parameters: nationality, age limit and academic qualification of a candidate applying for IBPS PO 2019 are mentioned below-

Nationality

To appear for IBPS PO 2019, a candidate must be any of the following:

  • Citizen of India

  • Subject of Nepal or Bhutan

  • Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India prior to January 1, 1962

  • Person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Zaire, or Zambia with the intention of residing permanently in India.

Academic Qualification

  • Graduate or equivalent degree in any of the disciplines from a university recognized by Government of India.

  • Candidates of General category must score minimum 60% marks while there is a relaxation of 5% for candidates of reserved categories.

  • Results of the respective qualifying examination should be declared by or before September 2019.

Age Limit

  • Lower limit of General category is 20 years whereas Upper limit is 30 years, as on August 1, 2019.

  • The age relaxation, according to the category of the candidate as per IBPS norms, is formulated below:
