The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has conducted IBPS Clerk 2017 mains exam on January 21, 2018. IBPS Clerk 2017 mains exam will test candidates in four sections - Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and General/ Financial Awareness. The Computer Aptitude section, which was a separate section till last year, has been merged with Reasoning Ability for IBPS Clerk mains exam 2017. The total marks of the mains exam 2016 were 200. The total time duration of the exam was 135 minutes. As per the IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Analysis 2016, the section on English was moderate, Reasoning was moderate to difficult, Quantitative Aptitude was moderate and General Awareness and Computer Knowledge were moderate. The IBPS Clerk mains exam was lengthy and time-consuming. Based on the previous year exam analysis, it can be expected that the difficulty level of IBPS Clerk 2017 mains exam will be moderate.

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Analysis 2017: Quantitative Aptitude

The level of the quantitative aptitude section in last year’s IBPS Clerk mains exam was moderate. The number of good attempts in this section was 15-19. The maximum number of questions in quantitative aptitude section was asked from Data Interpretation section and the least number of questions were from Simplification and Series.

IBPS Clerk 2017 Mains Exam Analysis: English Language

Just like the Quantitative Aptitude section, the English Language section of IBPS Clerk mains exam 2016 too was of moderate difficulty level. The number of good attempts ranged between 17-22. The maximum number of questions were asked from reading comprehension and cloze test sections.

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Analysis 2017: Reasoning

The Reasoning section of last year's IBPS Clerk mains exam was moderate to difficult and the good attempts in this section were estimated to be 16-21. Syllogism, row arrangement, square in/ out, inequalities, coding decoding and data sufficiency had five questions each. Remaining 10 questions were asked from miscellaneous topics like direction, ranking, etc.

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Analysis: Computer Knowledge

Till last year, Computer Knowledge was a separate section. But this year, Computer Aptitude has been merged with Reasoning Ability section. Last year, the candidates found computer knowledge section to be of moderate difficulty level. The maximum number of questions in computer knowledge were asked from MS Office and Hardware.

Quick Pointers for IBPS Clerk 2017 Mains Exam

  • A candidate should qualify for the CWE online main examination. However, to be considered for subsequent provisional allotment process they need to have a sufficiently high score.
  • Depending on number of the State/ UT wise vacancies available, cut-offs will be decided and candidates will be considered for provisional allotment
  • Prior to the completion of provisional allotment process scores obtained in the IBPS Clerk, 2017 mains exam will not be shared with the candidates
