KCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will be going to conduct KCET 2019 in offline mode. It is state level entrance test otherwise also called as Karnataka CET. KCET 2019 will be held for admissions in the first year of engineering, agriculture, pharmacy & various other courses into the participating engineering colleges of the state. Different colleges and universities of Karnataka will offer admission based on KCET scores.

If you are appearing for KCET 2019  then it is important to meet certain eligibility criteria for admissions into the participating Universities/Institutes. The criteria will consist of certain requirements related to the candidates’ age, scores and more. If you don't seem to be eligible and apply online then their is chances that KEA will reject your form.

The eligibility criteria for admission to KCET B.E./B.Tech courses is given below:

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India

  • The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than the universities listed in the notification at VTU Website are NOT eligible and candidates who have passed from Karnataka State Open University are also NOT eligible.

  • A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 2nd PUC / 12th Standard in 2018 whose result is awaited, may apply and appear for Common Entrance Test 2018 but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to any of the course specified in above,

  • A candidate who has passed the Q. E. with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

  • Along with the compulsory subjects, candidates must have anyone of the optional subjects - Chemistry/ Biology/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Electronics with a language subject English,

  • a minimum of 45% marks required for General candidates and 40% for  reserved candidates (SC/ST/OBC).
