JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2019- JEE-Main 2019 is a most competitive examination for the engineering aspirants being conducted by the NTA across the all over India. Through the JEE-Main, 2019 applicants are eligible to take admission in the undergraduate engineering courses in NITs, IIITs, and some other colleges. The applicants who qualify the examination will be allotted for seats by sitting for a counseling being conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA). The JEE Main 2019 Reservation Criteria will provide the overview to applicants about their eligibility and benefits which they can avail by belonging to reserved categories.

JEE Main Reservation criteria 2019 will be defined by the organizing authorizes in the official notification for the JEE Main examination of 2019 which was issued in the month of November 2018. The JEE Reservation criteria will be based upon applicant’s State of Eligibility and applicable for those only belongs to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), OBC-NCL, and Person with Disability (PWD) categories. These category applicants have some benefits over the general category applicants in terms of qualifying scores, officially cut off, and in seat allocation. Some other parameters in terms of admissions to applicants belonging to these categories will be related to state quota and home quota offered by the different universities. Applicants belonging to categories mentioned will need to produce necessary documents as a verification proof of their reservation in their respective categories.

  • The applicants are eligible for allotment of seats on the basis on the scores got in JEE Main as for this the National Testing Agency (NTA) will follow the rules as per prescribed by the government of India.

  • An applicant for admissions in NITs/IIITs and GFTIs get the benefits of a reservation will be given to only those categories that will be published by the government of India in the central list, respectively.

  • The state colleges/universities will not consider any emails or letters from the applicants for the JEE Main reservation criteria 2019 as the reservation criteria will be totally based on the scores secured by applicants in JEE Main 2019.

JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2019 On the basis of Category

The JEE Main Reservation Criteria on Category depends upon the caste and community of the applicant in India. There are 4 types of categories i.e. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) of Non-creamy layer (NCL), and Person with Disability (PWD) categories. The percentage for the JEE Main Reservation Criteria for the applicants belonging to these categories are given below:

JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2019 on the basis of Quota

The JEE Main Reservation Criteria on the basis of Quota provided by those respective state and the institutes who are offering admission for JEE Main 2019. Applicant’s admission on the Quota should be done during the time of counseling. There are three types of Quota reservation in India and are given below:

Gender Basis:

The quota for women was introduced with an aim to educate the more number of girl children. Aspiring women can get their admission in most of the institutes by applying under all India quotas and the gender quota. In percentage, the 5% of reservation is only for women applicants. Those women applicants who also fall under the PWD category will get an additional 3% reservation of seats for their admission.

Quota On basis of The State of Residence

The State of Residence quota is based on the hometown of the applicant which is again divided into two subcategories.

  • Home state quota

  • Another state quota

Home state quota is based upon the applicant state from where the applicant has passed the board exam whereas the other state quota based upon all the other states/union territories except the home state of the university or institution the applicant has applied for the examination. The percentage of reservation for The State of Residence is given below:

For the States/Union Territories without NIT

In line with the previous quota, the applicant belonging to state/Union territories that do not have NIT is giving their home state quota eligibility irrespective of their location. The NIT applicants belonging to the particular State/union territory are given below:

For Defense Service Quota

The Defense service Quota for the children of the Defense service personnel who had a permanent disability during a war or other operation and lost his life for the nation. Approximately two seats are allotted for Defense service quota.

For the Foreign Nationals Quota

The Foreign Nationals quota gets a 10% reservation on seats in the most of reputed institutions or institutions in India and after that, these applicants are not eligible for any other quota.

How to Claim the Reservation Quota for JEE Main 2019?

  • It is mandatory for the applicants to mention the reservation quota while filling the JEE main 2019 Application Form.

  • Applicant needs to produce a valid proof/certification from the authorized authorities to get admission in a particular quota. As the certificate is required during the verification process.

  • Applicants claiming for Person with Disability (PWD) quota will be accepted only the applicant is certified with up to 40% of disability and are able of pursuing the activities related to the academics for JEE.
