Q.What is the age limit to be eligible for JEE Main 2018?

A. Candidates born on or after October 1,1993, are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2018. For SC/ST and PwD candidates, there is a relaxation of 5 years i.e. they must be born on or after October 01, 1998.

Q. What is the maximum number of attempts for JEE Main 2018?

A. Candidates can avail a maximum number of 3 attempts for JEE Main 2018.

Q. Am I eligible for admission to B.Arch. course in IITs if I appear in paper 2 of JEE Main 2018?

A. No, candidates appearing in paper 2 are eligible for admission into B.Arch. course only at NITs/SPAs and CFTIs (where B.Arch. Course is available). For admission into B.Arch course in IITs appear in Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). Only those candidates qualifying JEE Advanced will be eligible to appear in AAT.

Q. Are those who have done diploma are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2018?

A. Candidates who have done diploma are eligible for admission only to the IITs.

JEE Main FAQs 2018 - Application Form

Q. What are the dates for application form submission and fee payment?

A. Registration for JEE Main 2018 has commenced from December 1. The last date to fill JEE Main application form was January 1, 2018. However, fee payment can be done until January 2, 2018.

Q. What are the particulars that can be corrected in the application form of JEE Main 2018?

A. Applicants can correct all particulars except mode of examination from computer based to pen paper based.

Q. I have recently submitted the request for updation in Aadhaar details. How can I apply for JEE Main 2018?

A. Such Candidates have to apply for JEE Main 2018 by entering 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID/UR No. (Including slash) printed on the slip issued by Adhaar centre after submitting updation request.

JEE Main FAQs 2018- Exam Pattern

Q. Will JEE Main 2018 will be held online for both paper 1 and paper 2?

A. CBSE will conduct JEE Main paper 1 in offline as well as Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. JEE Main paper 2, on the other hand, will be held in pen and paper based mode only.

Q. Are the subject combination for JEE Main paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan.) similar?

A. As per JEE Main 2018 exam pattern, paper 1 will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. While, paper 2 of JEE Main 2018 comprises Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing.

Q. What is the medium of instruction for JEE Main 2018?

A. The medium of language for JEE Main 2018 is English and Hindi. In the exam centres in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli the examination the examination will be conducted in Gujarati as well.

JEE Main FAQs 2018- Admit Card

Q. When will the admit card of JEE Main 2018 be issued and in which mode?

A. CBSE will issue JEE Main admit card online in the second week of March. Candidates have to log in with their application number and date of birth to download the admit card.

Q. I forgot to book the date for the computer-based test. Will I be issued JEE Main admit card?

A. Candidates will be issued the admit card of JEE Main even if they have failed to book their slots. However, such candidates will be allotted slot/date as per availability and it will be mentioned on their admit card.

Q. I have submitted two application forms by mistake, will I be issued the admit card of JEE Main 2018?

A. At the time of issuing admit card, both the application form of the candidates will be merged and only one admit card will be issued.

However, candidates must send an e-mail to jeemain@nic.in mentioning both the application numbers and specifying clearly the application number which they want to be considered.

Q. When will the answer key of JEE Main will be released?

A. Various coaching institutes will release JEE Main answer key will be released soon after the completion of the examination. The official answer key of JEE Main will be available online from April 24 to 27, 2018.

Q. Can I raise objection if I find any discrepancy in JEE Main 2018 answer key?

A. Yes, the official answer key of JEE Main will be open to challenges. Candidates can submit their feedback online until April 27, 2018.

Q. Do I have to make any payment while challenging JEE Main answer key?

A. Candidates who want to challenge JEE Main answer key have to fill an online application form and pay Rs. 1000 per question through debit/credit card.

JEE Main FAQs 2018- Result

Q. When will CBSE announce the result of JEE Main 2018 for paper 1 and paper 2?

A. The result of JEE Main 2018 paper 1 will be announced on April 30. While for paper 2, JEE Main result will be announced on May 31, 2018.

Q. How will I know about the rank secured in JEE Main 2018?

A. The rank secured by candidates in JEE Main will be displayed on the score card. CBSE will publish the All India Rank as well as the category wise rank of test takers. However, only the AIR will be considered for admissions.

Q. When will CBSE release the cutoff of JEE Main 2018?

A. The cutoff of JEE Main for qualifying the entrance examination will be released along with the result. The cutoff score will vary for General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD category.

A. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is the responsible authority for conducting the counselling of JEE Main 2018.
