The first step to start your preparation is going through the syllabus of JEE Mains 2019. In JEE Main Mathematics is most scoring and calculative subject as compared to other subjects. This subject is totally based on formula and calculation. If you are weak in Mathematics or you have lots of questions in your mind like how to prepare mathematics, what is the scoring topics, weightage of each chapter etc. do not panic, we are providing you some amazing tips and tricks by our Entrance360 Experts, you just need to follow the amazing tips. If the tips are followed without any excuses, you will feel JEE Main exam is piece of cake.

Scoring Topics: (Coordinate geometry, Vector-3D, Quadratic equation, Complex number, Calculus) These topics are high scoring. It means, if you will practice only basic application then you will be able to Crack JEE mains. These topics have a very specific way to solve questions, only you have to know those ways. About 70% question asked directly from these topics. Below we are providing you the weightage of each chapter.

Topic wise Analysis

Co-ordinate geometry: Every year there are at least 5 question from this chapter and weightage is around 15%-18%.In 2018 and 2017 they asked 4 and 5 question respectively. Also, you will find that questions from Algebra (complex number), and vector-3D where concepts of Co-ordinate geometry are involved and way to solve of Co-ordinate geometry questions are also applicable. In coordinate geometry, every chapter is related to each other and need a very special way to solve the question. Straight line and circle chapter which are the most conceptual topics and others are dependent on these topic eg. Conic section.

Algebra: Every year there is at least 5 question from this chapter and weightage is around 16%-20%.Some topics are very easy and scoring like (Quadratic equation, complex number determinant, matrices). All chapters are independent of each other and different way to solve. These are the much practice based topics and a very versatile question can be asked in the exam.

Trigonometry: Every year there is at least 2 question from this chapter and weight is around 5%-7%. This chapter is based on the formula, it means you are able to play with formulae at each and every step to solve the question and you have to remember all the formulae to the quick solution but there is no problem if will do lots of question practice then you can easily hold the formulas in your mind. Also, It may possible that you can’t solve the question in exam temperament because it will depend on your playing with formulae then we can say this is not scoring topics.

Calculus: Every year there are at least 2 question from this chapter and weightage is around 25%-31%. These are the most scoring like (differential equation, limit continuity & differentiability, application of derivatives, maxima and minima, function). These topics are very interesting because there is not the only number based mathematics it also involves interesting concepts. These are frequently asked in the exam. You don’t need to do more practice and very less formula based question. Here, you will use your analytical skills to solve the question.

Probability, permutation & combination: Every year there are at least 2 question from this chapter and weightage is around 5%-7%. These are not formula based question. Here, you have to use your analytical skills and concept of this chapter. If you are interested to play with puzzles then Definitely, You will enjoy at the time of solving the question. This analytical skill would be more helpful in your life.

Must Follow Tips

Prepare short notes: You have to prepare short notes of each and every chapter. You have to care about that short notes should not be more than one page or if you are able to create a mind map that would be more helpful to keep in your mind. Short notes help to the revision of all concept very quickly.

Practice application: Each and every topic are application based. You need to only understand these application and practice question based on this application only, practice is the best key to understand these topics. If you do practice in cycle till JEE exam then you will feel JEE questions are painless.

Prepare Mind map: Formulae are the key to solve very quickly and to get a high score in mathematics For JEE Mains. So if you think you might have trouble remembering all of them, you have to practice the question based on the formula to remembering the formula easily. Over a period of time, you will be able to remember all the formulae. You can paste the all formulae on your walls in your study room that you could easily see your formulae. To memorize the all formulae always follow your mind map which is created by you.

Solve model papers every Day: Now, you have to focus on time also because you have to get a high score within limit time and you have to be prepared by solving model papers to exercise your brain in the time limit. One to two model questions papers will help you a lot as it will help you manage your time better and you will feel a competitive environment. Revision: Revision of all concepts and formulae are very important over a period of time. You need to fix one day in a month to revision (R-day). This will ensure that you have enough time to revise and get more confident with the subject. It is one of the most scoring subjects of the three. Practicing every day without a default will give you the edge.

Previous Question Papers: Now, you have to match your level with a real question which has been asked in the previous exam. After solving the question, you can track your level that where did you reach and where you have to push yourself.

Reference Materials: First you have to complete all NCERT questions then you have to jump on the competitive question which is provided by “Entrance360” and you can follow books “Arihant publication” these are more sufficient to crack the JEE Mains Mathematics.
